Where the fourth international forum is entitled “Tourism as a driving force for economic development in Algeria”.
Which is organized by the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management Sciences at Baji University.
On this occasion we will tell you some important information about Algeria’s economy:
* Algeria is the largest African country in terms of area (2.4 million square kilometers)
and thus ranked 10th in the world in terms of area.
* The population of Algeria is 42.5 million, bordered by the north-east of Tunisia.
To the east are Libya, Morocco to the west, Western Sahara to the west, Mauritania to Mali,
and to the south-east by Niger.

1. The Algerian economy depends heavily on exports of oil and natural gas, which accounts for 60% of the state
budget revenues.

Algeria is administratively divided into 48 states and 1541 municipalities, with the bulk of its coverage covered by the
Sahara (the second largest desert in the world, covering 84% of Algeria’s total area).
