Far distance from all the dull dopey fashion shows, Saudi fashion designer Honayda Serfi managed to leave her mark clearly on a night that bore her name and was titled with surprise before elegance and beauty.
In a spectacular celebration of Saudi Arabia’s growing global influence on the fashion scene, HONAYDA unveild the Spring/Summer 2025 “Icons in Harmony” collection, closing day 1 of Riyadh Fashion Week.
Setting the runway ablaze, international supermodel Jasmine Sanders, aka Golden Barbie opened the Spring Summer 25 show with her fierce elegance and vibrant beauty. Her commanding presence brought to life the electric energy and graceful fluidity for which HONAYDA is known in a total couture denim look featuring denim shorts, a structured blazer and embroidered cape crowned with a handcrafted metallic headpiece.
As the evening unfolded, each creation further emphasized the collection’s blend of tradition and modernity, culminating in the grand finale. Acclaimed Egyptian actress Nelly Karim closed the show in a one-of-a-kind creation, inspired by the Saudi heritage encapsulating the spirit of cultural unity in a breathtaking elegance, leaving the audience in awe. The iconic Najdi veil was adorned with handcrafted 3-D flowers in a mix of red, gold, silver and black paired with a figure-fitting black gown featuring a gown-long red flower.
The SS/25 collection draws from the timeless elegance of iconic female singers such as Umm Kulthum, Fairuz, Etab, Ebtisam Lutfi, Mina Doris, Edith Piaff, Ella Fitzgerald, fusing the designs with their melodic sophistication and bold personality.
From soft pastels and flowery prints to imperial reds and blacks, the SS/25 runway witnesses a dynamic mix of silhouettes embellished with imposing floral headpieces diffusing the scent of the timelessly elegant woman.
A playful new denim line makes its debut on this season’s runway, with casual styles in poplin marking a harmonious addition to the HONAYDA collection, a woman’s wardrobe from day to night.
The intricate embroidery, a signature of HONAYDA, features traditional Arabic patterns and floral motifs, showcasing the craftsmanship that celebrates her heritage with a contemporary touch.
