“Forever is Now” exhibition opens today at the Giza Pyramids, featuring 10 renowned contemporary piece of art

The historic Giza Plateau has once again transformed into a prestigious open-air gallery as the latest edition of the “Forever is Now” exhibition officially welcomes the public today. Set against the majestic backdrop of the Great Pyramids, this year’s showcase features ten monumental installations created by globally acclaimed contemporary artists, blending thousands of years of heritage with modern creative vision.

The exhibition, organized by Art D’Égypte, continues its mission of fostering a dialogue between the ancient past and the present, positioning one of the world’s most iconic archaeological sites as a living space for contemporary artistic expression.

A Fusion of Eras

The ten featured pieces were selected for their ability to interact with the unique geography and spiritual weight of the plateau. Each artist has utilized a variety of materials—ranging from sustainable glass and steel to stone and recycled elements—to reflect on themes of time, continuity, and the collective human journey.

Unlike traditional gallery settings, these large-scale works are designed to change appearance throughout the day, as the shifting desert light and shadows cast by the pyramids interact with the surfaces of the sculptures.

Highlights of the Showcase

The curated selection represents a diverse group of international and regional perspectives. Key features of this year’s installment include:

• Site-Specific Geometry: Several installations mirror the mathematical precision of the pyramids, inviting viewers to reconsider the relationship between architecture and the natural landscape.

• Environmental Dialogue: A strong focus on sustainability is evident, with many artists incorporating eco-friendly materials that pay homage to the longevity of the site.

• Interactive Experiences: Many of the ten pieces encourage visitors to walk through or around them, creating a physical connection between the modern viewer and the ancient structures.

Strengthening Cultural Tourism

The opening of “Forever is Now” is expected to draw a significant number of international visitors, art critics, and cultural enthusiasts to Cairo. By integrating high-profile contemporary art into a UNESCO World Heritage site, the exhibition highlights Egypt’s evolving role as a global center for both historical preservation and modern cultural innovation.

Organizers emphasized that the project is not just an art display, but a cross-cultural bridge that transcends borders. As the sun sets over the Giza Plateau today, these ten masterpieces stand as a testament to the enduring power of human creativity, proving that the conversation between civilizations remains truly eternal.
