ABU DHABI’S top data wizards and farming bosses have joined forces in a mega deal aimed at supercharging the Emirate’s agricultural future.
Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD) and agritech powerhouse Silal signed a blockbuster agreement to crunch key numbers, safeguard food security, and power up innovation across the region.
The landmark pact was officially sealed by SCAD Director-General HE Abdulla Gharib Alqemzi and Silal chief HE Dhafer Rashid Al Qasmi on the sidelines of World Food Week 2026 at ADNEC Abu Dhabi.
The mission? Harnessing the power of top-tier data to secure food supplies and drive green innovation.
Hailing the deal, SCAD chief Alqemzi declared: “Our partnership with Silal is a massive step forward in combining raw data with expert stats to shape the future of Abu Dhabi’s food and farming sector.
“By streamlining data sharing and building statistical skillsets, we’re turning raw numbers into real knowledge that powers smart decision-making.”
He added: “This reflects SCAD’s commitment to building a connected, state-of-the-art statistical system that drives sustainable development and locks down food security.”
Silal CEO Al Qasmi said: “We’re constantly tweaking our operations to make them faster, smarter, and more sustainable—and pinpoint data lets us make lightning-fast decisions under any conditions.
“This strategic partnership gives us a crystal-clear roadmap to collect and analyze key data, backing strategies that safeguard the nation’s food supply for the long haul.”
Under the agreement, SCAD will upskill Silal’s workforce, creating an internal powerhouse team to drive top-level planning, analysis, and performance tracking.
It marks a huge step forward for digital transformation and governance, aligning the Emirate with world-class best practices.
Even better, the fresh farming and price data will feed directly into Abu Dhabi’s GDP reviews—giving economists a clear picture of just how much agriculture pumps into the local economy.
