The winner of the second round of Lithuania presidential election on Sunday won his rival
Ingrida Semonetti, who acknowledged her defeat at the end of a campaign focused on social inequality.
Naouseda won 70.64 percent of the vote ..
compared with 27.95 percent for his rival, former finance minister close to the Conservatives.
He will succeed President Dalia Ghribauskaiti and end her second term at the helm of the country.
“I congratulated Gitanas and wished him success in bringing together the Lithuanian nation,” Simonetti said.
