In one of the tiny routes of the famous Hamra Street in central Beirut, we met a young man studying at the university.
He was standing next to us waiting for the completion of processing Almnakish at “uncle Abdo,” which depends on
most of the workers in the shops and hotels Hamra at breakfast.
Even though the “uncle Abdo” Syrian and the rest of the Syrians compete with them in their livelihoods.
However, his review is good, and its prices are also good.
We asked the university young man with curiosity: Are you from the people of Beirut?
“No, but I study it,” he said.
Where to spend money and how to live? My father gives me a monthly allowance
But Beirut is expensive to live in, and studying in Lebanon is also expensive, so it is free to teach and not even
support it.
And the young man does not seem to be rich .. Logically was the next question: how much money do you spend monthly in Beirut ?
He said: $ 500 !!
Do you have $ 500 a month to live in Beirut?
The surprise was his assertion that yes, although Beirut is expensive in the price of accommodation but in food and
transportation prices reasonable for non-tourists for tourism.
Reasonable budget
After exhaustive research, we found that getting a furnished studio or small room could cost up to $ 300 a month.
It’s an amount you pay as a tourist for only three nights, but the fact is you can have the same amount for 30 days in Beirut!
Most of the buses and minibuses are paid 1,000 pounds (about 70 cents).
As for “the service cars”, took barely double .. almost a dollar and almost half!
If you are a student and move to your university every day for about $ 3, you spend about $ 15 a week and $ 60 a month!
Like them at breakfast, the average price of the Mankoucha is between 1,000 and 2,000 lira.
And it is logical that the remaining money will be spent in the needs of cooking in order to know to live in with a fully stomach & clear mind !
