Tokyo International Film Festival announced that Welcome Back Tora-san will be the opening film of the year.
The film is directed by the famous Japanese director Yuji Yamada.
TIFF expected to be opened on October 28. with screening Welcome Back Tora-san .
The film is now finished in time to mark the 50th anniversary of the beloved comedy series in Japan.
Ot Otu wa Tsurai yo or (it’s hard to be a man).
This comedy series takes its reputation as the longest film series in the history of world cinema.
And got a record from the Guinness Book of Records.
The series of films revolve around the same main actor since the year 95.
The opening film this year in Tokyo is the 50th movie of the series. Torokiro Kuruma or Tora-san.
Each film leading by a different lady named Madonna & happens in new region of Japan.
Participating in the film starring are Chico Baishi, Jin Maeda, Yoshihuka Heidetaka and Kumiko Goto, all of whom are re-enacting their roles from the long film series.

Tokyo Film Festival’s director Takio Hisamatsu expressed his delight at the opening film, saying:
“By watching the final selections, I felt tears in my eyes .
It was always exciting to expect the latest in the series every summer and New Year’s night.
I think that Tora-san series was a favorite countrywide, and if we look back, it embodies the history of the popular actresses in Japan. ”
“Today the series has been revived with the magic of director Yuji Yamada. I am delighted to host the first world premiere of TIFF.
Tokyo International Film Festival will be held from October 28 to November 5, 2019.
Known for the Tokyo Film Festival, has a long-standing tendency to please American patrons by choosing American films for opening most of the years.
