Walton Goggins was surrounded by snakes at the 2025 Emmys.

On Sunday night, the “White Lotus” star made a playful, and luxe, nod to his character Rick Goggins with his jewelry, which all donned snake imagery — a recurring motif throughout Season 3 of the HBO show. He wore three David Yurman pieces: an ouroboros ring in 18k yellow gold with diamonds, a golden snake bracelet also in 18k yellow gold and a necklace featuring a snake with malachite/emerald accents.

“We asked David Yurman for the snake pieces since they represent so much for Walton for his character, Rick Hatchett, on ‘The White Lotus,’ so they were the perfect pieces to complement the look,” Goggins’ stylist Erica Cloud tells Variety. “And the malachite & emerald resembled water, which is also symbolic for his characters’ end.”

The Vacheron Constantin watch, she adds, was the perfect piece to balance the look. “He’s a watch guy, and we love to try new pieces.”

In Episode 3, “The Meaning of Dreams,” Rick (Goggins) takes Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) to a snake show in Thailand, but the scenes there spiral out of control. Rick liberates venomous snakes from their cage — an impulsive act which reflects both his inner turmoil and sense that he’s been trapped by parts of his life he didn’t choose. For Goggins, the scene was particularly intense because he has a phobia of snakes. He revealed that filming it was “horrific,” and that the snakes used were real. He was even bitten while filming, initially believed it was non-venomous, but later was advised to go to the hospital

Goggins’ phobia of snakes is no more when they’re iterated in 18k gold, though. The jewelry was the star of his all-white custom Louis Vuitton ensemble, made up of a a white single-breasted tuxedo jacket, white silk shirt, black trousers and black loafers.

Goggins was nominated for supporting actor in a drama series for his role as Rick in Season 3 of “The White Lotus.” The award was ultimately given to Tramell Tillman for “Severance.” See a full list of 2025 Emmy winners here.
