Before Gouna Screening .. Released Trailer for ‘The Furnace’

Finally, the official trailer for Australian film ‘The Furnace’ has been released by on the different social media platforms.
Helmed by director Rodrick MacKay who also writes the film, The Furnace stars Ahmed Malek along with renowned Australian actors David Wenham and Jay Ryan. This comes shortly ahead of the film’s Arab world premiere at the 4th edition of El Gouna Film Festival.
The trailer features Ahmed Malek as he dons the costume of a Cameleer called Hanif, speaking in English and performing Islamic prayers. The video manifests the growing coalition between Hanif and Mal, the bushman on the run with stolen Crown gold, along with the police pursuit of the duo in the desert. The trailer also boasts cultural and religious backgrounds of Australia’s outback.
The Furnace landed world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, where it was widely praised by the international press and media outlets. It was described by Variety as “an enjoyably absorbing experience” and by The Guardian as “brutish western is tough as old leather and good as gold.” Besides, Ahmed Malek was widely praised for his performance in the film and Screen Daily wrote, “Egyptian actor Ahmed Malek (a Screen Star of Tomorrow in 2018) is immediately engaging as Hanif…”
1897 Western Australia. To escape a harsh existence and return home, a young Afghan cameleer partners with a mysterious bushman on the run with two 400oz Crown-marked gold bars.
