Corona virus cases in the United States increased today, Friday, by 0.4% compared to the same time yesterday, to reach 40.6 million cases, as of 5:44 am New York time, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University and Bloomberg News Agency.
The increase in cases at the national level is comparable to the average daily increase in cases of 0.4% during the past week.
California recorded the largest number of confirmed cases at 4.45 million total infections, an increase of 0.1% from the same time the previous day.
Alaska saw a 0.9 percent increase in the number of cases over the same time the day before, bringing the total to 94,474
Texas had the highest number of deaths reported in the past 24 hours, with a total of 411 people
