This evening, the full list of prizes for the 78th Venice International Film Festival was announced at the closing ceremony, which was attended by a few stars and filmmakers around the world.
Director Timo Nikki received the Audience Award from Armani Beauty, a new award presented on the sidelines of the Venice Film Festival, for his film The Blind Man Who Didn’t Want to See Titanic.
The filmmakers of “Imaculat” from Romania also won the Lion of the Future Award, which is given to the first work and revolves around a young girl suffering in drug rehabilitation.
Director David Adler was honored for Best VR Story for END OF NIGHT, while director Blanca Lee won Best VR Experience for Le bal de Paris.
Director Mai Abdullah and Barry Jane Murphy won the Grand Jury Prize for Best VR Film for Goliath: Playing with Reality.
ORIZZONTI AWARD
Ukrainian director Peter Kirkes and co-screenwriter Ivan Ostrochovsky won best screenplay for 107 Mothers, while Chilean film Los huesos won best short film.
Actor Beseth Chun won the Best Actress award in the Horizons section for the Cambodian drama White Building, and the Best Actress award in the same competition went to French Laurie Clamie for director Eric Gravel’s movie Full Time.
Bolivian director Keiro Warso received the Special Jury Prize in the Afaq competition for The Great Movement.
Official Contest Prizes Best screenplay award for actress and director Maggie Gyllenhaal for The Lost Daughter.
Young actor Filippo Scotti won the Best Young Actor Award for The Hand of God, while director Michelangelo Framartino won the Special Jury Prize for Il buco. Filipino actor John Arcela won Best Actor for his role in On the Job: The Missing 8, while Penelope Cruz won Best Actress for Parallel Mothers.
Director Jane Campion won the Silver Lion for The Power of the Dog, and the famous Italian director Paolo Sorrentino won the Special Jury Prize for The Hand of God. The Golden Lion was awarded to French director Audrey Diwan for Happening.
