Jessica Lange to Receive Vision Award at Sun Valley Film Festival

The Triple Crown of Acting winner will be honored for her storied career spanning film, television, and theater, paired with an exclusive live conversation.

Jessica Lange is set to add another prestigious honor to her decorated mantle. The Sun Valley Film Festival has announced that the two-time Academy Award winner will receive this year’s Vision Award, celebrating her profound contributions to cinema, television, and the stage.

The tribute, first reported by Deadline, will feature an in-depth, live conversation with Lange, offering festivalgoers a rare look back at the defining moments of her career.

“Jessica Lange is an extraordinary artist,” said Teddy Grennan, Executive Director and Founder of the Sun Valley Film Festival.
“Hosting her is a unique opportunity to celebrate her legendary body of work and listen to her insights on the craft of acting.”

As part of the festival’s program, attendees will get a screening of Jonathan Kent’s feature adaptation of Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night, starring Lange as Mary Tyrone alongside Ed Harris, Ben Foster, and Derek Carroll.

Adapted for the screen by David Lindsay-Abaire, the project sees Lange reprising the iconic role that earned her a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play back in 2016.

Lange remains one of the few performers to achieve the revered “Triple Crown of Acting.

” Her film accolades include Oscars for her performances in Tootsie and Blue Sky, while her television footprint boasts Emmy wins for HBO’s Grey Gardens and FX’s hit anthology series American Horror Story.

Fans of the franchise recently saw her return for its 13th season, following memorable turns in earlier installments such as Murder House, Asylum, Coven, and Freak Show.

Her theatrical lineage is equally formidable. Lange made her Broadway debut in 1992 as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire and subsequently starred in Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie.

More recently, she earned a 2024 Tony nomination for Paula Vogel’s Mother Play and led the HBO film The Great Lillian Hall, which nabbed her a Critics’ Choice Award nomination.

Beyond her work in front of the camera and on stage, Lange is an accomplished photographer whose fine art work has been exhibited internationally in New York, Los Angeles, and Barcelona.

She has also published several photography books, including 50 Photographs, In Mexico, and Highway 61.

With this tribute, Lange joins an elite group of past Vision Award honorees that includes Annette Bening, Clint Eastwood, Demi Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Meg Ryan, and Oliver Stone.

Over the years, the Idaho festival has also hosted industry luminaries such as Jodie Foster and Ethan Hawke.

The Sun Valley Film Festival will take place from December 2 to December 6, 2026, in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Lange’s upcoming honor stands as a testament not just to her trophy haul, but to a career defined by fearless versatility and enduring artistic reinvention across generations.
