In a forward step for Qatari cinema, Sa3oud Wainah?, the first Qatari feature film produced by Katara Studios with an entirely Qatari cast and crew made its official screening and was celebrated on the red carpet at its premiere during the Doha Film Festival.
The red carpet brought together the film’s cast: Mishal Al Dosari, Saad Al Naimi, Abdullah Al Harbi, Ibrahim Al Mirza, Aziz Al Dorani, Ali Al-Marri, Anas Khalaf, and the esteemed actor Jabr Al-Fayyad, along with the creative minds behind the project: director Mohamed Al Ibrahim, producer Ahmed Al Baker, Hussein Fakhry, and Luca Bercovici.
Sa3oud Wainah? follows two brothers who attempt to recreate an old magic trick learned from their father. When Sa3oud, the older sibling, makes Hamood disappear, the situation quickly spirals into chaos. As panic spreads among their friends, unsettling events unfold and the group is left questioning: Where did Hamood go?
Blending magical realism with mystery and suspense, the film delivers a gripping thriller that examines the fragile bonds of family and the emotional weight of hidden truths.
The project represents a major step forward for Qatari filmmaking, aligning with Katara Studios’ vision of producing authentic Arab stories with global resonance and positioning Qatar at the forefront of the region’s evolving entertainment landscape.
