Egyptian international football star Mohamed Salah is set to have a street named after him in the Yomra district of Trabzon, Turkey, following a proposal by Yomra Mayor Mustafa Bıyık.
The initiative aims to rename Selvi Street in the Kaşüstü neighborhood—where Salah’s new residence is undergoing final renovations—to “Mohamed Salah Street.” The municipal council is expected to officially review and pass the proposal.
“Salah is one of the most important transfers not only in the history of Trabzonspor but also in the history of Turkish football,” Mayor Bıyık stated. “We feel great pride and happiness that such an important star of world football will live in Yomra. The fact that Yomra will be Salah’s living space will make a significant contribution to the brand value of our district.”
The tribute comes as the forward prepares to move into his new home ahead of his ongoing campaign with Süper Lig side Trabzonspor.
